Across Australia, every ice rink operated Learn to Skate classes, operated by fully qualified and accredited coaches. Coaches are, generally, required to be members of APSA - the Australian Professional Skaters Association. Many rinks employ both coaches and experienced skaters to assist the coaches in the classes.
Learn-to-skate courses are, as a rule, of six or eight week duration and include group lessons and practice times. Many rinks also offer casual" classes and school holiday programs. There are progressive levels in the classes to cater for developing skills.
Many rinks have classes in basic skating, figure skating, ice hockey development, short track racing and synchronized skating.
Contact your local rink to find out more about the classes.
